Delayed

I was cruising around the internet and saw a meme that said “You didnt save their life….you just delayed their death.” Technically true. If you save someone’s life it is functionally and literally equivalent to delaying their death.

This got me ruminating about the recent election…Harris’ defeat / Trumps victory didn’t save us from the upcoming bad times, it just delayed them.

It’s all very subjective, but my belief is that no one…Trump or even Teddy Roosevelt…can have 100% of my trust to not do something that I believe is against my best interests. I’m glad Trump won, absolutely…but I see his victory as, at best, a stall giving me more time to get myself squared away against the uncertain future and it’s certain bad times.

While I’m okay with my current level of preparedness, I still have a little ways to go before maxing out. I’d like to think that Trump’s victory buys be a little bit more time to get there. We’ll see.

  1. Could not agree with you MORE! Many folks breathed a big sigh of relief at election results, like a load’s been lifted. But it doesn’t mean look back to see where we’ve “plowed”…for me it’s keeping on task, winding up the details–finishing the little things…but do we ever really finish our training, our making ready?

  2. Teddy Roosevelt? He was an anti-Constitutional progressive who thought ruling by decree was just fine. Thanks to him we have the FDA, the control of most western land by the FedGov, caused the Spanish-American War (he waited around DC in the summer until the SecNav left for cooler climes), sent the Army to break a coal strike (good or bad, the Army is not the tool to use), his Square Deal (Coal, Conservation, Consumer Rights), pushed the various food and drug acts which lack any basis in the Constitution, among other sins

His “Rhetoric of Righteousness” sounds a lot like AOC and Bernie Sanders and Mike Obama… Considering he was fairly wealthy on his own, pretty hypocritical.

  3. Along those lines, “No One Is Coming To Save You” is a good motto to live by. doesn’t matter whether you live in hurricane country or areas prone to flooding, even if rarely as we saw in the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina recently, or that you’ve blundered into the wrong place at the wrong time. You are your own first responder. Take it as an article of faith that no help will come for 7-10 days unless it is friends and neighbors in the former and 10+ minutes in the latter.

  4. In 1988 most thought the Democratic Party was to usher as the Republicans had won three Presidential elections in a row for the first time in 60 years. Unfortunately, the schools and Universities were still controlled by Leftists who swung the next generation of Voters to Bill Clinton.

    • Both parties conspired to eliminate the last real hope for this country. We are now past the point of no return and it is only the rate of decline being negotiated .

  5. I fully agree. The best he can do is slow the slide, The system has too much momentum and too many interlocking regulations for him to stop it.
At worst he’ll change the system so it fails in a different way.

  6. No matter who is the leader the country has grown used to the government throwing money like a drunk sailor .

That is going to end some day when the world
Is sick of subsidizing the dollar .

  7. I’ve been thinking along these lines. Trump winning bought us time. How much remains to be seen.

We’re discussing where to shift our focus for the next few years.

    Steelheart

  8. Just saw that Trump is advocating for a Nationwide Concealed Carry reciprocity law.
Hopefully it will be a Federal law that allows Constitutional carry.

    • That reciprocity rule should have been automatic to begin with. Driver’s licenses are universally accepted. But the public places serving alcohol and others choosing to refuse permission for their clientele will only reap what they brought on themselves.

  9. Industrial disease, he’ll cure it soon, abolish Monday mornings and Friday afternoons. May as well get rid of the IRS and ATF while he’s at it. Wasn’t too long ago in our history that the US gov’t locked American citizens in concentration camps. Buckle up.

  10. We can take a breath and maybe a short break.
We must remain focused and aware.
Trump will try to do good things, we must do the same

    • On the plains of hesitation lie the bleaching bones of those who on the verge of victory laid down to rest, and so resting, died.

      We must keep pushing, HARD.

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

  11. He is putting Rubio as Sec State… same Rubio who advocated for Red Flag Laws. You know, the skip the due process, just go in and disarm the people we do not like laws.

Not everyone in his administration is going to be good on every subject. Some are going to be closet tyrants. The censorship is bad when they do it, but you can trust us to do it right types. People do not go into government because they want to protect your freedom, they go in for power over you. Trump is not a politician or a bureaucrat, but just about everyone working for him will be.

I am glad he got elected, we probably pushed the financial collapse down the road 2 years. It is still coming. Hopefully they will not assassinate him and he can lead us out of it, but anyone that thinks someone in political office, on either team red or blue, is going to save them, is either dumb or very naive.

    • Id be curious to see the odds on further assassination attempts. I’d imagine Secret Service is having a big hiring campaign.

      • Did you see Vance on Rogan? He said he planned to get to the bottom of the assassination thing when they got into office and he seemed serious. It would be nice to find out the truth… for a change. Also, Trump has said this time he would declassify the JFK assassination and with RFK jr. on board, that might be a good thing for people to find out as well.

As for new hires, I kind of think they want to bring back the guys that were there for 45 for 47. Not sure I would trust someone coming in the door. Hell, half the damn government bureaucracy would probably put a bullet in him if they had the stones. The man is brave, not sure any other billionaire would do what he is doing.

  12. Assumptions of the usual cheating side, about 70 million people voted for the Indian-Jamaican-Canadian. Blacks and browns and yellows, Jews, AWFLs, soybois, troons, They have not gone away. They will publicize their emotional storms and tantrums, but they never stop working towards the destruction of Western Civilization and the White race. There are still people watching and filming and tracking your vehicle’s black box. They will still flashmob media to get you fired from your job. They still want you dead and your children raped and they think it’s funny.

All the elation over a modest victory just strikes me as the usual “We voted harder and now we’ve done our part and the magic president will fix it all” that characterizes Joe Q Normie. Even if Trump had the intestinal fortitude (and he does not) to deport 10 million people or fire the top 5 levels in every federal agency, it would not substantively change anything. All the post-1965 third-world immigrants are still here. All their children and grandchildren have magic merkan citizenship. They’ve brought over all their parents and fellow villagers. There are over 150 mosques in Texas. There are about 200 elaborate Hindu temples in the US, many built with workers specifically brought over from India. Trump is considering a Patel to head the CIA. Vance’s wife’s family is now waiting ‘their’ turn.

But hey, Trump won and now we don’t need to worry about aging infrastructure, inflation, the crisis of competency, and the dismal demographics. Hey, most of us will be dead by the time our kids and grandkids have to live as a reviled minority (I’ve seen that crap repeatedly) so who cares. Meanwhile, we all know our ‘sainted seniors’ are all entitled to live at least 25 years just playing pickleball and taking cruises, so more entitlements must be guaranteed to them.

This old lady is not changing her plans or way of life (started all that about 5 years ago) and I’m not celebrating (I didn’t vote, either). My husband still knows his late father’s years and sacrifice as an army officer ultimately meant . . . troons and Patels and AINO. We look back on our own former fedgov work as similar wastes of time. Trump cannot stop the economic crisis that is still coming. He cannot stop the efforts to replace the dollar. I’ll happily take whatever minimal breathing room he may inadvertently provide, but I don’t expect much, and I know it’s not going to change anything for my progeny.

And they are what matter. All the prepper YT channels, all the military blogs, all the comments – are from OLD farts. All those ‘disabled seniors’ have bought some extra toilet paper and Spam and are saving for a generator to run their CPAP and oxygen machines. Whoopie. Meanwhile, US births in 2021-2022 were barely half White. The ‘good’ public schools we did not send our kids to, in the ‘prosperous’ suburb where we used to live, are majority east and south Asian. Plus all the blacks brought up after Katrina. Meanwhile housing and family formation is unaffordable and the kids must be dumped in daycare so both parents can work to scramble for the trappings of middle class life.

    No, I’m not celebrating.

    • Don’t lump Jews as a group when it’s the liberals. Most of Israel and conservative Jews prefer trump. Yes, there are a high number of liberal Jews, and they have wonky views on socialism. Plenty of Jews are pro 2a and pro america.

      • There are plenty of people who sell out their own people. Judas sold out Jesus and plenty of Jews sold out their fellow Jews to the Nazis. Goes back to Zero’s article on self-preservation.
