So I finally signed up for HBO so I could binge watch The Last Of Us. I watched the first three episodes last night because I really wanted to watch Episode 3 with Nick Offerman playing hardcore survivalist-not-prepper ‘Bill’.
Something that struck me as rather ‘yup, thats really how it happens’ was the scene where Bill, the hardcore survivalist, is in a relationship with Frank, the not-a-survivalist. Naturally, there is some butting of heads on some subjects. But I really resonated with this:
F: You live in a psycho bunker where…the government are all Nazis.
B: The government ARE all Nazis!!
F: Well…yeah, NOW, but not then!
Thats the kind of conversations you have when your significant other isnt on the same page.
Technically, I suppose those creatures in TLOU are a form of zombie so I dont feel that using the ‘zombie’ tag for TLOU posts will be amiss.
Yeah, I’m fortunate that my Spouse is all in, on the Survivalist Preparation end of things.
Prepare to be disappointed with the series.
I really like his character, wish they could have left the gay stuff out, but. Killing him off so soon was a mistake. He could have been a great long term real survivalist who understands this world, not the pathetic characters hollywood puts in all these type shows. In real life pretty much all of them would die quick and horribly.( Except in my version of the end, I keep Kim Dickens for my girl toy as we rule the apocalypse:) Like Shane in TWD, he was strong and a survivor but no we must kill him off and let the soy boys and their hurt feeling stumble thru the end of civilization. Shane and Negan had the correct attitude for that life. Survival of the fittest so the weak don’t fuck things up again.
This is one of the greatest post-apocalyptic sketches I’ve ever seen. Production values are fantastic. Key and Peele are way ahead of us all.

That was great. I never saw it before,LMAO
That would be how I roll also.
and how will you know someone is a good guy or bad guy? Ask the right questions.

Attempting to get entertainment value and survivalist values out of any modern productions is going to be of limited use. Unless you as a consumer have a full grasp of the background on the script writers, directors, producers, financial backers and related corporate umbrella organization’s tribal, philosophical, and political agendas, you are thus just another coomer consumer staring at a vidya screen. Example writ large here with this production. Buyer beware. As far as human interpersonal relationships go whether household family, extended clan, or outer community members, if they are not at least 90+ % on board prepping and survivalist mindset than you will be better off going lone wolf solo. Any lack of assets or attributes by not being grouped up with others are quickly negated by finding out you have retards and enemies inside your own wire later on.
Stay thinking and stay frosty.
I think entertainment value is its own use.
That’s true. Its fun to see what Hollywood think the apocalypse will be like versus what it will probably really will be.
BTW, anyone got Kim’s home address so i can stop by and rescue her when it all starts.
Sorry, developed a thing for her during Deadwood;)
The ‘zombies’ in TLOU are strange. Some are ‘Z Nation – I Am Legend’ fast while others are ‘TWD’ slow. The premiere of TLOU had a grandmother stuck in wheelchair now sprinting like an athlete. How would an older person move like that, even with scrambled brains ?
Woke episode is inevitable. Hollyweird must have some characters act as if their lifestyle determines their success. Or be at least a key member of group winning. Negative portrayals must be white and mostly male – it is all part of the plot.
