with or without spouts? if without, source for spouts?
Spouts aren’t hard to find, but are unnecessary. A funnel is a much better option.
Those look nice. I ordered four as well. They are scheduled to be delivered Monday. Thanks to your reader who shared the deal with you!
I ordered my set of four on the 29th and got them the next day. FEDEX delivered my package to my neighbor’s house and beat the shit out of the box (completely broken open), but miraculously none of the cans were damaged. I slammed them on the delivery satisfaction survey. They all got filled last night and will be moved down to the barn tomorrow morning.
Yeah, my box took a bit of pounding too.
I would moderate that that reply if I could..lol
Like your cans too…lol
Mine were also delivered to my neighbor, WTF.
I tried to order four on about the First of Dec. and was told they were out of stock. Checked again on Dec. 2nd and they were back in stock so ordered four. They said they would be here on Tuesday.
I do have a question…. the “for non potable water” sticker and declaration on the website.
Is that because they aren’t red?
Or is there a coating inside that would interfere with fuels?
I have the same question…are these OK to put gasoline in?
Wrong, spouts are available and reasonably priced from same source and out perform funnels. Just received a set of these day before yesterday and tested, same as older nato surplus cans, about 90seconds to empty (or as fast as inlet would take it). It is all about the venting. Spout comes with holder that attaches to can but can with spout attached cannot be stacked on top of.
I got 12. I bought about 15 from sportmans guide about 20 years ago. only have 4 left, as the cans develop pinhole leaks due to rust on the bottom. I plan to coat the bottoms of these new cans with a truck bed liner compound. My advice about storage- never let the can touch the ground or concrete.
They need to be stored on a wooden pallet .
I bought some of that spray-on flexSeal stuff and coated the bottom third of my cans with it. Smartest thing I could have done. Only drawback is that I need to ground the cans when filling them using a different method than just simple metal-to-ground contact.
Got my first set of 4 and am contemplating the FlexSeal approach – curious as to what you do to ground them when filling – grounding wire or ? thanks in advance
I ground them …. on the ground. Metal-to-ground contact when I fill them at CostCo.
Hah, yeah. You mentioned the FlexSeal on bottom third, so now I am imagining you leaning them against the pump island to get metal to ground contact…
