Paratus is next month. If you received a Paratus card from me last year, you’re probably on track to get one this year. If your address has changed then you need to email a new mailing address. Didn’t get a card and want one? Then you need to interact with me more. Anyone who sends me a Christmas or birthday card? On the list. Patreon? On the list. Sends me a gift or just a supportive note? On the list. Intereacts with me in ‘real life’? On the list. Fellow blogger? Usually on the list.
Still haven’t finalized this years design but I’m working on it. Don’t forget, Paratus is the holiday about you, you deplorable, crazy, survivalist. Get together with your like-minded buddies and have a nice gift exchange and some range time. Are you the quiet type lives a secret life as a survivalist? Then use it as an excuse to by yourself that nice Icom or Glock you’ve been wanting.
And feel free to send me a card!
My father passed away two years ago. He was a combat medic in Vietnam during the TET offensive. Wound up with a severe case of PTSD and a torn up spine that he treated by self-medicating with large amounts of Jack Daniels. He was not a nice drunk, and I took the majority of the physical abuse, but I forgave him over time. When he couldn’t take it anymore he finally went in the back yard and shot himself in the head. I had to go to the police station and retrieve the gun.
When his wife, my step-mother, passed last month I was informed the Pentagon credit union wanted my contact info. Alarm bells went off. When I consciously and with great trepidation called they said I was listed as a beneficiary on an account..Apparently my dad had his wife set up a non-joint account that her daughter couldn’t steal from, so I got a nice surprise check.
This year’s Paratus gift was a new Colt Python. Thanks Dad.
You need to update the link it’s still for 2021
