According to the UPS tracking numbers, the PTR’s I sent to Bill Springfield arrived the other day. As I’ve mentioned several times before, the semi-auto HK91 platform really benefits from having the original mag release on it rather than the pushbutton release. So much so, in fact, that it is worth the $$$ to me to have it performed on my older guns.
If you decide to buy a new PTR or other G3 clone, hold out for one that has the paddle mag release already on it.
I am hoping to get my PTR’s back sometime next week (I hope) at which time I’ll be happy to report back on what I think of the job that was performed. Stay tuned.
I hope every one is having a great Burt Gummer Day today
How did you mount the scope?
Uhm…I put the scope in the rings and put the rings on the base.
Cute. My local gunsmith says there is insufficient metal on my HK91 to mount the base. I couldn’t see the left side of yours to see if you had mounted it that way. Don’t bother updating your response. I won’t see it. Reminds me of the time in undergraduate when I asked a question in chemistry class, but used the term irregardless. After several minutes of lecture on being an illiterate hillbilly, I started walking out. The professor demanded to know where I was going. I told him I was going to the English department to get an answer to my chemistry question.
The same internet you used to prove to the world that you’re not only an arrogant fuck and a whiney little bitch would have showed you that your gunsmith is a fucking idiot.
Somehow you found a way to incorporate that you are “educated”, obviously smarter than a professor, too stupid to use Google and apparently needing a safe space.
Here’s an idea, fuck off.
Are you having him do the trigger job too?
I’m having him send along a trigger pack thats had the trigger job. Im already spending over a grand for these upgrades so I need to not go overboard at the moment.
Good to see he’s still in business. I had a few AR triggers sent to him around 2005/6 or so IIRC. They performed like advertised. ‘Bit’ less expensive than buying the jig and trying it yourself, and a lot cheaper than trying to ‘learn’ how to do them freehand.
