Between lunch and getting off work, the local gas station raised it’s price another ten cents. Thats almost a fifty cent increase from this time last week.
And when fuel prices go up, the cost of everything delivered by fuel-consuming vehicles goes up. And electric vehicles are not the answer that the lefties would have you think it is. After all, where is that electricity coming from? Why, fossil-fuel power plants in most places. Either in your tank or in a generating station somewhere, you’re still burning hydrocarbons.
For those of you on fixed incomes…..ouch.

Beat ya: $1.70/gal increase here in the last 10 days, amigo.
And Los Angeles is even worse than that.
My nit-wit father was all proud of himself for buying an electric lawnmower (that he made mother mow the lawn with), because he’s “saving the planet”.
What a moron.
Yes. The follow on effects of the hyper inflated energy (all forms and usage types) will spill over through out the entire economy cost structures like a wildly tossed bucket of blood and offal. This will grind up the economy way worse than 08 recessionary effects. Have your catalytic converters welded up in a cage. Install locking gas caps, and park in your hyper secured garages. Stow and secure anything not bolted down, amplify your burglar nightlighting. Sporty and Spicy times will follow along shortly. Go long on popcorn kernels, blocks of butter, and salt shakers. Stay frostier.
Gas where I live has gone from $3.19 to $3.79 since March 1st. I haven’t looked yet today, but expect it to be higher.
Can we agree that we should change the left and the right to be just Right and Wrong? No matter what a liberal concocts it is almost always WRONG.
It is. Recall who has opposed nuclear power for the last 50+ years. Sierra Club, Green Peace, and their ilk.
Now they all love nuclear power. They were wrong the entire time.
Gas going up! Nickel– “hold my beer”. Price just went over $100,000/ ton. Russia is the biggest supplier I read. Can’t make those batteries without nickel. The thing I remember most about the 1970’s inflation is not the price increase, but the LACK of gas availability. Stations were frequently out. If the price is high you can cut out unnecessary driving but if gas is not to be found you are not going anywhere.
I’m one of those on a fixed income – I’ve never understood why the SSA doesn’t figure in the cost of gas & food in the pitifully small COLA. It’s like we don’t need those things because we’re senior citizens.
We hadn’t been into town for over a week due to the crazy weather making a mess of our long driveway. So it was quite a shock to see gas up to $4.44. We won’t be going into town much for a long while.
“….why the SSA doesn’t figure in the cost of gas & food…”
Because in the twisted logic of the government: everyone needs gas & food, therefore those costs “cancel each other out” and have a neutral effect on the economy.
The working poor are among the hardest hit, because they *must* fuel their cars to go to minimum wage jobs.
Maybe someone can explain why if we import less than five percent of our oil from Russia, the price increase is way more than that?
I know, it’s all about the Benjamins. Silly question.
