  1. Sounds local.

Costco in Helena had plenty. I tried to buy two packages of paper towels, and was told at the checkstand that only one at a time was allowed, but there was plenty of them in the back.

  2. Call it the Wu Flu if you like, but the (not so) United States of America is in the middle of a pandemic with 735,800 already dead. So there are bound to be supply chain issues, especially with Just In Time deliveries.

Up here north of disorder, our Costco is fine for things like TP. I just picked up some the other day. In Ontario, the COVID stuff has mostly been sorted out and things are opening up. đź‘Ť

    • 93%+ error to that number as all deaths(suicides,car/motorcyle accidents, other illnesses(heart attacks/strokes/overdoses) are widely doumented as being falsified. San Diego county coroner went on record awhile ago when thousands of deaths were claimed and he stated only 6 were.

  3. Here in Hampton Roads, I was shopping at BJ’s (like Costco) I noticed there were gaps in the pallets in the TP isle. They still have TP but it was about half there normal stock.

  4. Snagged another size large package last week at the local Wally World, 72 rolls?
So far here in the Vancouverstan area I’m in that one hasn’t been an issue, yet.
Of course there is a big paper mill about sixty five miles downriver from here that specializes in it.
That may or may not have something to do with it.
The bottled water shortage is the one that has been puzzling me.
Oh btw, have you heard about the world wide Magnesium shortage coming next month?
There will be no more new aluminum.
That is going to make the chip shortage they have been screaming about look like a crayon shortage at a kindergarden.

    • There is a Mag plant is Spokane that has not been in operation for years, because they buy subsidized power from the gov and sell to Ca for a profit, so why make product? Turn East off Division Ave on Magn Rd. a mile or two. Your taxes at work, but not for you.

      • One up north of Spokane near our place that hasn’t been operational for something like 20 years or so. While back they tried to sell it – no takers.

Wonder if they’re going to start it up again? That would be nice for the local economy.

    • watch the scrappers go to work tearing down infrastructure to sell the metals once the prices go high. A few years back when copper hit $4/lb the meth heads were stealing it left and right.

  5. Plenty of TP yesterday at Costco here in H-town, although mostly the Kirkland brand with only a small amount of Charmin. We went for the Charmin.

Was actually surprised at the meat with inventory better than I expected. Cooler space had been noticeably low over the last 6-9 months but seemed well stocked on this trip.

TV’s were the item that stood out as depleted. Less of the large screens on display at the store entrance.

  6. In our neck of the woods, almost every day Costco has TP, both the Kirkland brand and another. Several pallets of each. 3 hours after opening, they’re usually gone. Doneness the supply will last most of the day. There are plenty of paper towels. Usually, they get snapped up along with the TP.

The issue is panicked shoppers. That’s why Costco put s limit of 1 TP per purchase.

I have a good friend who works there, and this is directly from that person.

  7. sam’s club here was wiped out last weekend. no tp, no paper towels. plenty of food though. and candy, omg, the whole middle section of the store piled high with candy. what’s up with that? my usual grocery run to food kitty ran 50 bucks higher than normal. ouch.

  8. which COSTCO ? curious because I have frequented 3 different ones and found limits but not lack of product. maybe a regional issue.

  9. I was in two different grocery stores outside of Richmond VA yesterday and both had toilet paper. Interestingly, both were almost out of juice packs (the kind people put in kids’ lunches). Last week it was something else.

    • Sign at the local Publix grocery store here in Georgia says that they are out of juice boxes “due to supply chain” issues. It’s been there for a couple of weeks. Walmart and Sam’s seemed to have them in stock. At least some flavors.

  10. Plenty of TP around here, though we don’t have a Costco. Nearest is 3+ hours away.

I’m surprised how few shortages I’ve seen for being in a lightly populated remote area – 3 hours to a City over 25,000.

  11. Here in South FL, Sam’s has paper towels and TP but limiting purchases, one pack of each. Interestingly enough, the Walmarts don’t have any chicken breasts….Sam’s does and the price has not changed. The shelves at the local grocery stores have both PT and TP but the prices are higher. Publix prices have been going up across the board. I was talking with a Boar’s Head product Rep and he told me that their prices are going up significantly…..

  12. Here in the Wild, Wild West. TP was OK where I shopped last week, but paper towels weren’t. The “leading” brands were nonexistent. All they had was some Mexican off-brand on the shelves. …Gas is $4.30/gallon… FJB…

  13. I hit up the BJs on the west side of Richmond VA last Monday. No TP or paper towels. This time last year 3 center rows of Christmas items. Only a half row currently. It appears that they removed a single isle of shelving and spread the rows out on the one side of the store. I keep track of bacon as the family plows through it. The BJs brand 3LBS has been forever at 11.99. Jumped in 3 weeks to 14.99. Diesel has moved from 2.89 to 3.49 over last six weeks. Local Walmart hasn’t had mandarin oranges in last six weeks. An employee told me when I asked for clear storage bin they had gotten any in 2 months and containers in general can’t be kept in stock.

  14. We keep about a hundred rolls here, our SHTF back up are rolls like you find in a public bathroom. Big honking rolls. Bought some concrete forms from Home Depot. Perfect fit. Tape up the ends (cardboard circle inside then duck tape and into the attic. The other TP shortage option is a bum gun. A dish sprayer from a kitchen sink. Tee it into the water line and just blast the…..stuff off. Might want a hot water line if you live in cold places. Down here cold water line is fine. Basically a home made bidet.

    • Forgot to add, the public TP rolls you can get from the zon or a local janitorial supply. I prefer local. The sink sprayer from any hardware store that sells kitchen sinks like H.D. or Lowe’s.

  15. May be time to watch for bargains as panicked try to return items to be refused,a cash offer may get supplies at bargain prices.

  16. Indiana hasn’t been bad, if you don’t go to walmart of Meijer. Picked up a 1/2 hog and 1/4 cow at Moody’s. Waiting for another 1/2 cow from a former co-worker. Picked up 50#’s of sugar (been doing a lot of canning), 2 large packs of TP, 1 of paper towels at Gordon’s Food Services. There wasn’t a lot of sugar, but they had a lot of large bags of rice and beans.

  17. I see random shit missing that seems odd because you would think its low demand. A Kroger in Huntsville Tx was out of crackers, cakes and febreeze the other day. what the hell drives that shortage?

    • My wife had a similar experience at HEB the other day but it was pasta/macaroni. She sent me a picture of the shelf that was basically bare where the pasta should be. She said everything else in the store seemed “normal.”

Only thing I can think of that really explains it is that pasta supply co had a delivery driver shortage.

  18. TP is a construct of the white male patriarchy.
Hands or organic leaves will be used from now in the spirit of unity and progress.
Soon the racist plumbing will be banned and the people’s slit trench latrine will go up.
    Yes we can!
