Yes, I dabble in the stock market. And I do okay at it. But I have literally no idea what the hell just happened here:
Did $54 worth of call suddenly jump up in value by $975 in one day? WTF? I mean, yeah, I pick a winner every once in a while but….
And, yes, I closed out that position.
Not sure why the call jumped like that, though. Ideas?
ETA: Glitch. It’s gotta be a glitch. The only way that call coulda jumped like that was if F suddenly discovered how to make a flying car.
Manipulation. Somebody was working that stock or the sector in general. Just watch what it does going forward. If it stays high someone was dumping causing your 54 call and you bought the call just right. If it drops back they were spoofing it up and you caught a break.
Ford reported they have chips to finish and deliver trucks, at least in some quantity
May be, but still…..I very much doubt thats the kind of news to give a 2000% boost. Find out tomorrow when the market opens and my order goes through to close.
So how did the story end?
I can show how to look at a chart using the MACD indicator. Looking at F you can see it was going to POP! The swing low is much lower than previous swing low but MACD is higher. This creates a pressure like a cork in a shaken Champagne bottle. Once the cork pops the pressure is relieved and price settles out.
We can do a quick Zoom if you want to go over this.
