It has now hit the point that I am stockpiling magazines for guns I don’t even own.
Yet.

SCAR 17 mags?
AR-10
Even more 7.52×51 semi auto rifles at home won’t protect you any better than the 20+ other rifles (guessing) you’ve got put back already. Better off to save the money.
Save the money! When there is ample info about the implosion of the economy, devaluation of the dollar in favor of the “yuan”, once beijing Joe & the socialists sell it all to chinkdom. You are much better off having tangible assets (guns, ammo, powder, cars), anything of value that you can hold in your hand or actually put in your pocket.
Any hard asset is more valuable than assets on paper. Once the paper is destroyed, or proof of assets destroyed, you have zero proof you have any assets at all. Just because you have a piece of paper that says you have something is of no value if someone doesn’t actually honor it as truth or fact. Hard assets are another ball game, and cannot be denied. Physical evidence…. Not that it makes any difference anymore with the present situation..
Kinda of like having 5.45×39 ammo when you don’t anything that fires that caliber.
Right there with you, brother. Not buying the mags for future profit – just buying them because I can’t afford the actual gun yet, but I know it’ll be the mags that get banned.
I hate to say it but the rifles may be banned as well….certainly anything from overseas… including ammo
I had kick around the idea as well, but never really follow through.
Yep, been doing that for years, if the gun is anywhere on the first two pages of “might wants” ;-). Never a bad idea – you might be able to trade them even if you don’t follow through, though I’m trying to consolidate, so have eased off the practice of late. BTW, thanks for the interesting insights and commentary.
When i go to the gunshow, its rare that i am looking for a particular item (unless its reloading components). I go for Targets of Opportunity. If its way underpriced, i buy. My friends used to laugh at me for buying ammo and mags for guns i didnt own and never intended to own. Even before the last few sets of Troubles, they saw the light. Almost always a better return than my stocks.
Well, admitting that you have a problem is the first step to a cure. I recommend going to some MA (Magazines Anonymous) meetings. You can get through this, MA can help!
I got you beat, I have 17 24Lb cannon balls for an 1812 era cannon. Just in case. Anybody got an 1812 era cannon?
