My solution to cheaply practicing AR type drills ( and forget even getting .22 LR right now, unless you get lucky at Walmart or Cabelas when they restock ) is a S&W M&P 15/22. Has the same controls and dimensions as an AR. Have to use their mags of course but got them cheaply when the getting was good. I am sure this conversion kit is very good though.

If I didn’t already have some of those already, that’s a steal.
But a buddy of mine decided he had too many mags for his conversion so I snarfed up some of his a while back.
Doing the math I probably was close to the same price per unit listed here.
