Election years are always expensive…Pt. 1
Election years are always expensive…Pt. 2
I have, literally, a bucket of stripped AR lowers.
I have hundreds of AR mags.
I have, at least, a half dozen complete AR’s scattered about.
I have a few ‘investment’ AR’s sitting around as well.
All that and I still wound up dropping some coin and picking up another five AR’s the other day.
I am so vulnerable to my own second-guessing….
Is that a Pelican 1780?

Man, every time I think I’m squared-away….
If you’re not squared away on cleaning supplies. CDNN Sports has Outers Bore Snake Bore Cleaners in most calibers on clearance for $1.99. USGI AR cleaning kits including a 223 Bore Snake including Remoil for 9.99. Overall a pretty good deal.
Here’s the link for the 9mm variety. You can find the others from here.

Thanks for posting this, Eddie. For anything short of a fine benchrest barrel, these Bore Badgers should work just fine. Now I need to mix up a fresh batch of Ed’s Red. 🙂
Nice for $1400 and then you have to fill it
Why would anyone pay retail?
One on ebay in my area for 445. Pre-scuffed, no break in period.
I don’t need one, but if I did, that would be a good price.
I know someone offering one for $150, but it’s local pickup only and a long way from me – Albany NY.
With Ruger just announcing that they bought Marlin, the year after the election might get expensive for me.
Im very excited about the potential for Marlin combined with Ruger’s forward-thinking engineering, design, and manufacturing history.
If they make a takedown guide gun or 1894 I might actually care. Assuming they do it right.
I suspect that what Ruger will do is simply run Marlin as a completely separate operation, producing Marlin products, but incorporate some of the Ruger production and engineering practices. I doubt higly we’ll see 1894 lever guns with “RUGER” stamped on them in big letters. Ruger is smart enough, I think, to keep the Marlin brand and Marlin product line completely separate.
Ruger and Marlin! My two favorite manufacturers. It’s like Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston got back together. Watching with excited anticipation, their offspring should be beautiful.
