Love letters from ATFE

“This is an important message from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. ATF recognizes the essential role that FFLs perform in keeping the public safe, and we greatly value your cooperation. If you encounter indications of unlawful activity, please report it to your local ATF field office and or local law enforcement. A listing of all ATF field offices can be found at www.atf.gov. You may also contact ATF to report suspicious activity any time at 1-800-ATF-GUNS or online at www.reportit.com and select ATF Anonymous Tip Line. Thank you.”

The circumstances under which I would voluntarily engage with those morons is a very short list. This smacks of ATFE getting their ducks in a row for something.

  1. “If you see something, say something.”

    Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

    • Hey…
      If you See Something.
      Say Something and
Do Something to stop America’s Enemies damaging the amendments…
      You will be arrested!
      The State is never wrong…

  2. Great! Waiting any day now to know when I will be interviewed for my FFL. Perfect timing with this crap.

  3. “Trust me – I’m from the Government”

    UH-HUH….suuuuuure I won’t…

  4. It’s getting close boys & girls, the games are about to begin sans some responsible deflection down this path. And you can damn sure bet it ain’t gonna be guided by politicians presently feeling they make all the rules. Citizens make the rules, you elected wankers work for US, not the other way around. But the biggest issue is the average citizen is to brainwashed and enamored with their stupid phones & high-tech they can’t be bothered to pay attention to what are still known as facts and truth….. B Ready!

    • That’s absolutely correct ….. The public are completely asleep and mindless consumers ….. We need to all be ready for either A MANUFACTURED EVENT OR A NATION WIDE DISASTER USED TO INFLICT CONTROL ON A GIMME GIMME GIMME SOCIETY. Wake up time is now or never

  5. voice mail at ATF: ‘…yeah, we have enough going on with that whole Fast and Furious fiasco fall out with our own agents, janitors and contract workers stealing and selling confiscated guns. If you could just leave a message ratting each other out and then lead us by the hand to where the problem is and explain things to us in simple terms that would be great. Buhbye… ‘

  6. I don’t read too much into this. ATF is looking for a win right now after two back-to-back spree killings have made the Bureau look ineffective. If they could get some headlines for stopping an imminent threat from committing another mass casualty attack, that would certainly provide some much-needed good PR.

They also want to gently remind all FFLs not to sell guns to obvious wackjobs.

    • Perhaps it is the opening salvo in a court-of-public-opinion plan to force FFL’s to get liability insurance.

  7. use the same defense as big Pharma did when caught selling eleventy buhjillion oxycontins to small town USA. ‘…we strive to meet all Federal regulations, and we believe we have done that. If anyone has evidence to the contrary, please take it up with the Feds…’
