I notice you left Deplorable Warlord/Domestic Terrorist off the list.
An oversight, I’m sure.
Can I be a trans-bunkerdweller, but bi-survivalist ‘curious’?….
Tim:
I think you have been watching too much TV….
(Or possibly too many TV’s)
all the best!
These polls don’t take my picks…even anon…I (like some others) would be a combo or more mix of the selections above…I know it is better to be prepared and not need it than to be wanting in any situation…that said, in a major catastrophe/apocalyptic event it may depend mostly on luck who survives and who doesn’t…and of the initial survivors some won’t have the true will to survive…that is organic…I just watched the complete cut of Dawn of the Dead (1978)….I have watched various cuts of this movie countless times…Spoilers….at the end Peter wants to give up and end it all via gun to the head but he can’t do it…he makes a frenzied attempt to get to the waiting chopper and makes it…with Fran at the stick they are up and away…with very little fuel and destination unknown…they have the drive to try and survive…on a final note the road of the apocalypse will be littered with those that were survivalists, preppers, etc too…
I wonder what the definitions of those above categories are today. Many Preppers think survivalists are the anti-gov’t militia right wingers, many survivalists think preppers are just a bunch of Politically correct bandwagoners who buy stuff to put onto their shelves and never use yet claim to ‘be prepared’. Both think homesteaders are just modern day hippies living back to the earth but with all the modern convivences. I guess I fall into the Survivalist/Prepared minded individual for a few reasons. Yearly I take classes in various subjects, I plant a garden that feeds us very well over the summer/fall, I exercise/hike, I keep my political beliefs apolitical when it comes to preparedness, I go camping more as a way to test out bugout gear/extended living gear, I no longer get involved with patriot/militia groups for various reasons especially from nearly 20 years of experiences with various types. Who knows, maybe there is a new work to describe something that’s a combination of several beliefs.
