Okay, I am done with HK91 mags. I just ordered..uhm..a hundred..of them from Lew Horton. Lets put that in perspective:
One rifle – 135 magazines
See the problem? Need more rifles.
To be fair, half of those will be going in to long term storage against a new assault weapons ban.

Reminder: AR stripped lower group buy page is up.
How do us peons go about buying the magazines from Lew Horton?
Give ’ema call. Maybe they’ll sell ’em without an FFL. However, Tapco has been having better deals. Hunt around and you can find them for $2 or so at most places online.
Thanks, will do.
I’ve been debating a DSA FN over a PTR-91 for a while. Your review helps with that.
DSA makes a great FAL. The FAL is a good gun. The HK has, to my way of thinking, only two things that make me go with it over the FAL: a) insanely inexpensive-yet-high-quality OEM mags, and b) stone cold reliability.
The HK lacks good sights and a last shot hold open. Im playing it safe and keeping both for now.
Still…theres a certain..I dunno….appeal…to the HK types since they just seem to work without fail. You never read about an OEM gun needing work. (ANd, yes, the PTR isnt OEM but its about as close as you’ll get whereas theres godawful Century Arms abortions running around calling themselves FALs and CETME’s these days.)
AR Lowers
I like the idea of the group buy on the AR lowers, however I have heard that in the new proposed AWB, the section about “A conversion Kit” (37 I think) can be interpreted to include any and all parts used to build one of the many listed banned weapons. Which would mean unless you have a whole rifle before the ban, you’ll never have a rifle. Any opinions on this?
Re: AR Lowers
Opinions? Sure. Good luck trying to regulate parts that are non-serialed. Without the other parts being serial numbered Im not sure how they can prove you built up your lower after the ban.
Re: AR Lowers
True. I was thinking along the lines of manufacturers being forced to halt production of other parts. I wonder if that could happen without serials like you say. Probably not.
