Off to the range today. Exact same loads as last time. Only difference is the cases are now 2x instead of 1x fired. This time I decided tor eally knuckle down and not rush.
All groups are five shot, 100 yards, off bipod:
#1: 7/8″
#2: 1″
#3: 3/4″
#4:1 5/32
#5: 13/16″
#6: 3/4″
(Ignore the group in the big diamond..that was just trying out my buddy’s ammo that he was using.)
A couple of the groups could almost, almost be covered with a quarter. If I’d been shooting three-shot groups alot of these would have just been cloverleafs.
So, I think I’ve found the load that this rifle will be eating from now on. Im going to chronograph the loads and run the numbers through the computer to come up with a range card and then all I have left to do is pick up a good scope, some support gear, and load a couple hundred rouns of ammo. Then Im done with this particular gun.
The CZ is, quite obviously, capable of shooting excellent groups if good handloads using quality components are used and if the nut behind the bolt does his part. Next trip to the range with this gun will be at 200 yards and see how that goes…then we’ll back it out to 300 yards and see whats what. Big limiting factor is that my Leu. VXII only goes up to 9x but a good visible target should make it alot easier.
Definitely seeing a difference in the use of the BR primers and AMax bullets.
