Ok, help me out here….a guy gets elected president, and a percentage of the population reacts by buying guns, food, and cabins in the woods. If they’re conservatives they are deplorable bitter clingers, but if they’re lefties they’re just sensible? Is that how that works?

I saw another article similiar to this the other day…so after the apocalypse these people build New Fransisco or what?!?
Shhhh – just go with it man. Arming a Lib is a step in right direction. Maybe (?) they will begin to see that the evil ‘boom boom stick’ doesn’t have a mind of its own, and begin to question what else he thought was truth isn’t. Take them to the range and teach to shoot – hell, they might become converts. Stranger things have happened.

Liberal logic:
If you oppose the idea of being disarmed and subdued by a democrat, you’re a bitter ignorant gun-clinging racist.
However, if you oppose the idea of being disarmed and subdued by a republican, that makes you a patriot.
Everything in America today along partisan lines. When the lines don’t actually exist, someone will be happy to make a dividing line for you. Like with preppers. If you’re a “prepper”, you’re a member of the right. If you’re an “urban homesteader” you’re a member of the left. Never mind that both sides don’t trust out current political and ecominic systems to not go belly up on us, have a couple guns, and a whole bunch of food in their houses. They’re really more the same than different.
A relative recently made a comment about gun owners being rednecks. Told her I’m not a red neck just because I have guns. She hasn’t said anything since. On the other side, we have a couple of very conservative friends who haven’t quite figured out how to pigeon hole me. 😉
I’m a gun owning, apartment dwelling, bike commuter, who likes coffee shops and I post comments on a survivalist blog. Catagories are useless.
Ha ha ha, moving to Gunnison because it’s a supposed Liberal Mecca? Wow someone is playing a great joke on him. There are a few libs teaching at the college but other then that this place is one of the most self sustaining areas around, he had better put on some “big Boy” pants because life is about to get rough. I hope he goes through with it, this area has broken a ton of people. It’s 6 out now and snowing, it will only get down to -8 tonight, should be fun!
Well, maybe when he finds out the world isn’t ending I can buy the shotgun off him cheap.
I joined that liberal prepper facebook site and what a riot! They don’t care if you’re there to learn anything, they’re scouring members fb posts now to prove you’re a liberal or get banned from the site. Now asking for money to run a member only website, want to know who lives where so they can share supplies, want to change the name to homesteaders or off-gridders because preppers are the name for those right wing nutjobs, the whole gun/anti-gun discussions are hilarious, many “pro gun owners” are touting the need for a gun to protect themselves and neighbors against the fascist rounding up of the LGBT and muslim community but not one of those machine guns those right wingers have (Mosin rifle is the ultimate survival rifle in their opinion) AND the best part. Someone asked for shtf fiction and nearly every single book people post is from a “right wing, conservative” type author. Rawles, A. American, Lights Out, someone pointed it out and was booted for it. It’s pure gold entertainment!
Heh. “Rounding up muslims & LGBT”. I’d buy tickets to see that dogfight!
I’ve been fully invested in the Beretta 92FS (M9) for many moons, due in large part to its adoption by DoD. ‘Commonality’ in my mind, has tons of benefits. Once they work out some more ‘bugs’ in the M17, I’ll very likely buy that, too, for exactly the same reason. In fact, with three kids now, I’ll probably get a half-dozen.

Off topic but: Today, the news broke that SIG USA has become the winner of the United States Army’s Modular Handgun System contract, making its P320 handgun the next standard issue sidearm for the United States armed forces.
