Do you ever wonder if some of these decommissioned military sites [that are put up for sale] might still be on either Russia’s or China’s target list? Yes, they’ve had their inspectors go through them, but there always seems to be somebody that didn’t get the word, and if an adversary has the nukes to spare…
My mother inlaw still lives near the PAR site http://srmsc.org. When her husband still worked there they were told they would have 12 minutes of warning; to either go home or get below but either way you were getting nuked.
Doesn’t look very pretty, does it? At least it isn’t in the middle of some frozen wasteland, though…
It would make a great ISP location…
or fetish club…
I think one key is “1966” – that’s a lot of years to have been sitting there rotting.
Instant vaporization might not be a bad choice if it ever came to it…
I like your line of thinking:P
I dunno, concrete’s pretty durable. Roman Colluseum comes to mind…and the didn’t even have re-bar….
And incidentally that’s only a year older than I am, so its not -that- old! 😉
