Well, as you may be aware, the big news around here these days is the Kaarma case. As you can imagine there’s a bit of a divide about the whole thing…there’s one camp that beats their chest and thunders that “Anyone inside my house unlawfully deserves to be shot and killed” and then theres another side that says “There wasnt anything here worth shooting anyone over”. I’m mostly in the latter camp. Plus…hunting over bait is usually unethical.
And, as I was walking around doing errands today, I spotted this little jewel that made me feel better:
Not sure what these guys are gonna sell, but whatever it is I’ll at least come in and look around. Come to think of it, Im a little embarassed that I dont already have one of these in the window at my shop.
Kaarma case? Hmmm, haven’t heard of it.
*does quick google search…discovers both the shooter and the shot were of the same race*
Well, that explains how this has somehow escaped national media attention.
*bzzzzzzt* Wrong answer. Shooter is of an Asian persuasion, and the shootee is a Teutoninc exchange student.
Hmmm. Wrong I was.
Nonetheless, “Asian shooter, white victim” still fails to fit the media narrative regarding firearm useage.
White property owner shoots and kills black teenager (18 year old) would have provided a real contender for major media coverage.
Teutoninc? Had to get all fancy, could not just say German!!!
I think the baiting is going to be the biggest hurdle for this guy in his trial. Than again others might justify it by saying is that not what you do with four legged predators. I guess we shall see!!
The baiting, while bad, is nowhere near as damning as the guy telling folks at the mall a few days earlier that he was tired from staying up all night watching his garage because he wanted to ‘kill some f***ing kids’. That and the jailhouse phone calls where he says he should get a medal because he’s now made the neighborhood safer.
Yep that will be a problem, it can be painted as premeditated now if that is in fact the case concerning his statements.
