I like that system. Wish I had started it before I had a big pile of ammo cans full of random stuff.
The hard part is being consistent in the size of the ammo cans.
Is that a medical supply chest on the lower left? Have one myself for medical supplies,need to set up organization for it though.
Nah…rocket case. But I do have the medical chests, though.
Do you repaint your ammo cans, or just touch them up?
I touch them up in spots that have rust or wear. Biggest thing is to store them off the ground on some 2×4’s or something to prevent moisture on the can bottoms. In an environment like yours, maybe paint the bottom half of the can with Felxseal or similar product.
Truck bed liner works great,rough up area first to get proper adhesion.
Never overlook the need for canned goods after TEOTWAWKI.
It might be a bit late, but did you ever consider a different numbering scheme, something that doesn’t give away how many others there might be laying around?
For instance, if I happen upon your stock pile and see a can labeled 42, I would be inclined to look harder for the other 41.
However, if it was stenciled BG-2 I would not be. The letters could even convey info only you know such as all mag cans start with M, ammo cans for 9mm start with R, things like that.
How do you know that number isn’t part of a numbering code?
