Ruger 10mm Carbine

Figured it was just a matter of time.

The 10mm Auto Ruger LC Carbine

Good caliber, good idea, bad platform.

Well, at least they tried. I expect this and the .45 version to be discontinued within the next five years. By then Ruger will have developed the PC Carbine II which will beĀ  a larger frame. Ruger will drop the original 9/40 PC Carbines and make all the new ones on the one-size-fits-all frame that supports 9/40 and 10/45.

Someday.

    • Same as any other reason, I suppose – lack of sales. Ruger did reintroduce it with a detachable box mag but I don’t think even those are flying off the shelves. I’d like to see a .357 version but that seems unlikely.

  1. I have a Ruger PC9 that disappointed me. Worked well for about a year, say one season of shooting club matches with it then started having extraction problems and consequent double feeds. Doing a little reading showed me this was a common problem, apparently the extractor isn’t well-designed and you need some after-market part in there if you could find one. The PC9 now sits in a back corner, waiting for me to find someone I don’t know who wants one. I don’t want to sell a bad-luck gun to someone I know.

  2. From your lips to God’s ears, CZ.

Ruger could build a PC 45 tomorrow, and undercut the Thompson market by a paltry $1000@, with interchangeable 1911 and Glock 21 mag well inserts, and have the world as their oyster. People in 45 free states could then plug in 15rd 1911 or 30rd Glock happysticks, or 50rd Glock drums.

By even without crusty Fudd Bill Ruger to blame it on, they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
