I tried to behave myself with the big Missoula gun show this weekend, and I thought I was doing a good job of it until someone offered me a SIG P320 Five-X 9mm for sale. Now, I am not one who wants to take on the logistics of a new gun but…I needed a SIG fire control group, slide, and barrel. Why, you ask? To make this happen:
Its a SIG P320 in a Flux Raider chasis w/ a couple 30-round mags.
I am, apparently, a bit suggestible when it comes to advertising. To be fair, my MP5k won’t fit in my desk top drawer at work so the Raider does have that going for it.
Here’s the funny thing…the donor P320 that I used to get the upper half of this gun from turns out to be actually rather nice. My only experience has been with the 220- series of SIG pistols from back in the day. The Five-X is actually a nice handful and seem very well made. I might have to take it to the range and if I like it I might just have to buy another one to have a complete pistol.
The Flux Raider, by the way, is a very, very, very niche sort of thing. And as interesting as it looks…they make an even smaller one:

I’m not familiar with the Raider, but I like the concept of a super compact weapon like this.

The PDW and the fat was of hundreds is a cool desk drawer for sure.
The small SMG/ PDW niche is interesting. Probably fills a role. I am agnostic about the options available to me but can see the appeal.
The 365 raider is pretty sweet if you need a micro pdw of sorts. I love the idea of one of I ran a 365 for edc.
I had hands on one about 2 weeks ago. It’s concealable with winter clothing layers.
Am I missing something here or did you just decide to put together a short-barreled rifle; i.e. pistol with a butt stock?
The chasis comes with a brace rather than a stock, although a stock is offered.

Following. Although a pdw type of gun set up is kinda a niche unit, it may indeed have a role to play in one’s macro strategy. If you find yourself in a pickle and needed a gun to over firepower a naughty opponent or a rudely visiting wet team coming upon you, it will prove mighty handy. Some folks are going to find themselves as stay behind units, dwelling humbly away in places with swat teams, box stores, and militant uni students. Well then, it is best to up the ante in one’s favor. Two is one, so ensure a redundant back up unit is also within reach. Superior firepower aids in staying frosty.
So you just need a small P320 so you can use the same mags ………………………………………………………………. Sorry I forgot who I was talking to, OK how many?
First thought “Someone is laying down guns like bread crumbs knowing Zero will buy them and get rich”, but then I remembered he always gets a deal on them so no.
Second thought “I thought he said no more guns this yea…..Ooooo a Sig!”. Guns be like crack to Zero, or Lay’s Potato Chips “No one can get only one (gun)”.
