Barrett M82A1 drum magazine

Oh sweet merciful Crom….

In a recent conversation, Drew from FosTech, Inc. provided insights into their latest creation – a drum magazine designed for the 50-caliber Barrett M107 and 82A1. With over a decade of experience in crafting drums, the company has now ventured into the realm of the powerful 50 BMG.

This years SHOT show is dropping some interesting stuff…lever action rifles from Smith and Wesson, Palmetto is casting a wide net with rifles, pistols and shotguns,….

The MSRP on that Barrett drum is insane but it sure does peg the needle on the Cool-O-Meter.

I hope I never have a day where I actually need to have a 20-rd drum for my Barrett.

  1. I’m sure the Hollyweird movie prop crews are already approaching that company with $$$ in hand, screaming ‘TAKE MY MONEY !!’ Sure to be featured on the movie trailers.

El Chapo (Mexican drug cartel imprisoned) is muttering ‘Missed it by that much -pinche Gringos’. I think part of his confiscated cartel arsenal included a .50 caliber semi-auto, perhaps supplied by Fast & Furious pushed by the U.S. law enforcement back in the day.

I’m sure the price tag will include a few too many zeros.

  2. Cool stuff for a range toy, but wasn’t the open magazine thing learned decades ago with the Chauchat?

      • Probably not, their shotgun drums are open. I’ve done the math and you should be able to fit 25 rounds in a slightly smaller drum if they used a different form factor.

  3. Probably the most impracticle item I’ve seen at the Shot Show. Hope it comes with an enhanced mag catch spring.

    • A Barrett M82 weighs around 30 lbs, plus scope and mounts (call it 36 pounds)….Whats an extra 10 lbs off the bottom of the rifle? It’s not like you will be firing it standing.

      • I don’t think the factory magazine catch will support the added weight of a loaded drum. The OEM catch is marginal at best.

  4. For cripes sake!
How much would the filled drum mag weigh?
You wouldn’t want to carry it far…

    Ceejay
