Why would a drug company ship millions of dollars of product to a customer who apparently has no ability to pay? Simple math…no one stays in business long when they give away the product instead of selling it.
The lesson here is that when an economy collapses (or comes close to it) those convenient modern miracles may not keep coming. Of course, anyone with hard currency (cough*gold*cough) shouldnt have any trouble getting their drugs since there’s always someone somewhere who can deliver for the right price.
Inflate your currency in haste, repent at lesiure, as Benjamin Franklin said.
Perhaps Greek schools are afflicted with the same socio-liberal disease where they forget to tell people that they’re refering to multi-national BUSINESSES, and not multi-national CHARITIES.
Or else the leftists in Greece have been blurring the difference so long with handouts, they can’t handle reality any longer, and the sudden unwelcome return of it to their lives is causing an unpleasant reaction.
I’ll ship them some kleenex and hankies.
I believe that people take too many drugs anyway.
For many people I agree.
Poor lifestyle choices cause many to need meds to keep stuff under control but if they tried to be healthier in the first place (and having a diet soda pop with a meal doesn’t count).
Many of them don’t need the first medication and if they didn’t need that they wouldn’t need the next few they’re taking that were prescribed just to counteract the side effects of the supposedly required one.
All of this is another reason to get yourself in better shape so you don’t need most of the meds in the first place. If there are meds you require look into alternate therapies (herbals etc) that can do the same thing that you can either grow yourself (indoors if you have to) or order in bulk to have on hand.

This could happen in the US very easily also. A great many people already cannot afford their medications and receive medications free through pharmaceutical companies with their doctor’s arrangement. I hope less expensive substitutions can be made in Greece and here also. Often, but not always, a tried and true old medication, often fifty years old or more, can be substituted for some of the very expensive “new drugs on the block”.
