Off topic, but I couldn’t find a “Contact Commander Zero” button.
Anybody got any recommendations on rust removal/prevention? I’ve got some bare steel that needs to stay bare. It will not be painted or primed. Plenty of stuff out there that will dissolve the rust easy (I used Rustoleum rust stripper), but so far with WD40 and Remington RemOil, I can literally come back in five minutes and see the rust coming back under the oil. I’m starting to think I’m better off not putting anything on at all. The metal is in air conditioning, so major humidity is not a problem. I’m really amazed at how quickly the rust comes back.
This is light rust, but I’ve got another job ahead that is like crusted rust and is going to need acid and a wirebrush. Not something I want to do repeatedly.
I’m looking into Boeshield, but I figure somebody in the Bunker will have a suggestion. I’d think this topic might be worth a post in itself. (Maybe there already is one in the archives?)
