Uzi stuff

Fella came in the other day with a shopping bag and said “You said you had an Uzi, I bought these years and years ago but never got around to getting an Uzi. Figured you could use ‘em.” Very cool, I said. What do I owe you? “Ah, keep ‘em”, he said. One good turn deserves another so I fished around under the counter and pulled out a couple Gamma Seal lids from my stash of spares and handed them to him. “You sure?”, he asked. Yup, I replied, keep ‘em.

This is a fella I mentioned earlier. He’s come to preparedness late but he’s making up for it with a vengeance. Since I’ve been at it longer than him, I contribute my two cents worth of opinion, direct him to vendors and sources for product, and just generally explore ideas with him. He works in an industry that has some use for people in our rarefied interest, so he does little things for me and I do little things for him. Neither of us really keeps track, we just do stuff like this from time to time. These are the kinds of relationships with other survivalists that I enjoy. It’s casual, comfortable, and everyone wins.

The magazine connectors (I keep trying to get him to stop calling them clips. No luck so far) are pretty solid and they’re a nice relic from the happy days when Action Arms was a real player in the market. They do seem to have some utility and, if nothing else, they’re a nice accessory to have with the original gun. I do need to get some more magazines, ideally at least one more full-size Uzi, and I’d really like to get one of these for the wife and have it SBR’ed with a short barrel. Sadly, there is no shortage of things to buy…only shortages of resources to spend.
