Okay, you gotta admit…its a pretty cool looking bomb shelter.

“The disaster shelter that you are about to view was custom built for a very discerning and well-informed family. It took approximately two years to construct and was never installed. This project is available and ready for delivery.”

  1. nice!

but not affordable by me. if had to, would bury a few interconnected shipping containers for a homemade shelter system. Wildflower 08

  2. $425K is a little spendy. The shipping containers are not strong enough to bury though, I have been researching that idea and most if not all engineer type folks say it would be a good way to become buried alive.

For very little money I can get a pre-cast concrete underground utility vault about 10′ wide 16′ long and 8′ high that is rated for the stresses of being buried, if I can find a reject with minor repairable damage, they are almost free but they will still charge about $1000 to deliver and install. Now, if the old lady would get busy digging the hole I could get moving on this.
