Man, did the folks at Hornady’s marketing department hit a home run or what?
Talk about zombies and a possible zombie apocalypse has increased due to recent gory accounts of drug-induced, flesh-eating attacks in the news. Stores across the U.S., including in Metro Detroit, are getting in on the undead action by selling Zombie Bullets, made by Hornady Manufacturing. In promoting the product on their website, Hornady suggests, “Be PREPARED – supply yourself for the Zombie Apocalypse with Zombie Max ammunition from Hornady! Loaded with PROVEN Z-Max bullets… MAKE DEAD PERMANENT!”
I tell ya, I thought the anti-zombie ammo was a bad idea but it looks like Hornady was ahead of the curve on this one. Bravo!

Or head shots, even. I think at relatively short ranges the .22 would work. The movies and TV show zombie heads being somewhat fragile so I think a .22 would work close-in whereas it wouldn’t perform as well on a living person.

As I understand it the rounds are the same as their Critical Defense ammo but with a different colored tip.

John Galt III, you brought up an interesting point. I’ve noticed that birds of prey often start with eating the head of what they just caught, I always assumed it was making sure it was ‘good and dead’.
Just wait for the guy who licenses the image of those two “Twilight” kids and puts it on a .22 LR rifle stock – He’ll be rich in about 45 minutes. While this idea is almost as horrifying as real zombies the upside would be tens and tens of thousands of teenage girls would be responsible for taking previously unarmed households into being gun owners…
I bet that Hornady marketing folks almost messed their pants out of sheer joy when dudes started eating eachother.
